| QLD won game 2 State of Origin |
Yesterday will now be our Australian (and possibly worldwide) history books. Alot of Queenslands would of been celebrating last night for two reasons.
There has been some serious politic issues between all parties involved for the past few days or weeks in Canberra. I do wonder who was running the country yesterday while this schoolyard behaviour was going on? It seems no one wanted Julia Gilliard as PM anymore. Inspite the country has mixed emotions about her role gender, I was happy to finally see a female as the country's PM for once. At 4pm she annouced on live TV there was going to be a leadership ballot at 7pm last night. In her announcement she included the loser has to retire from the politic world.
There was a leadership ballot held last night between Julia GIlliard and Kevin Rudd.
About an hour later it was announced Kevin Rudd is now back as Australia's Prime Minister until the upcoming federal elections (supposely be held on 14th Sept but the day now could be changed to sometime in August). Goodbye Ms Gilliard! She was our first female PM for Australia for three years. Good luck in whatever next venture you are planning on taking.

If you love footy, Queensland won the second State of Origin 26-6. Can you see the connection? The score is the same as yesterday's date:26/6 (that is how we write the date in Australia: date/month/year)
